Horrific customer service!
I received a text about a transaction. It didn't all add up so i replied N for i didn't make it.
Long story but came to my cell. Husband used HIS card. I tried to find out what happened. First call to customer service 1/21/2024 she was so rude.
2nd call the rep was very nice figured out and told me i had to call Fraud dept to remove the block. I was on the phone for over hour waiting. Called the number again today. Requested call back.
This woman continued to talk over me and the rudest nastiest person on the phone. I got upset and asked for her name and she hung up!!! Do not bank with this bank. I worked there over 10 years and understand why customers close their accounts!

I literally had no complaint only a couple questions, but your automated service did not give me an option to speak to anybody other than this pissedconsumer.com. Which I think is stupid.
The ladies that help me was more than helpful. I just had a few questions and a follow up from an incident from1 AM this morning. Everything was resolved in the one phone call with her everything I needed or asked for she answered so now I'm not an unhappy customer. 1 AM this morning.

M&T Takeover of Peoples - Faulty Migration
I migrated from Peoples. On date of transition, I checked my new M&T account to see if my scheduled bill payments had transitioned, and all appeared successful.
Today I learned that only one of three payments were made, resulting in over $250 in finance and lat fees. Since 9/6 transition date, the parking lot at my local branch and lots around it are completely filled from opening to closing. I called M&T today to see how they were going to rectify m situation I was on hold for close to 3 hours. Finally, the individual told me that "on her side", they only saw the payment that was made and not the others that were scheduled.
It really made no difference to her that "my side" told me all of the scheduled payments had transitioned. In sort -- "her side" wins and I am out $250. Welcome to M&T bank. And goodbye M&T bank.
How do you trust a financial institution that cheats you our of $250 in the first transaction? I opened a new account up the block at Chase today. They are giving me $300 to open a basic checking account.
So thank you M&T...I earned $50 from your failure and understand that former Peoples Customers are leaving you in droves..Move to another bank. M&T can not be trusted

Yesterday, I couldn't access my account only due to "maintenance" or the site just wouldn't load. Today, they added that page where you have to have a code sent to either your email or cell phone.
After three tries, the code didn't arrive at either one. I called them to tell them to remove that "layer of security" since it didn't work, and tried going through the menu, which cuts you off before putting in all the numbers (account, social security numbers, card number).I spoke to the rep who answered the phone after being told to wait to speak with someone else, and being put on hold for 20 minutes, was told it was now a permanent fixture that can't be "turned off". I then told them it didn't work, and if this is the kind of service they were going to provide, I'd change banks. I've been using the same computer and cell phone for over a year, and pay to have my own security.
When the security feature doesn't work, and prevents you from checking your own account, and getting to your money, it's an aggravation, and the consumer should have the choice of having it there. Telling me to do it their way, which doesn't work, or not accessing my account online is bad customer service, and I'm probably not the only one who leaves for greener pastures.
All banks are the same as far as fees, etc. so why stick with one who doesn't care about allowing the customer to make their own choices.

As I have learned myself, anytime I feel I am being talked over is usually me trying to explain something I did and it usually doesn’t help the situation. I have learned to let the rep speak and offer their solution.
In your case you should be careful because any issue involving potential fraud can easily be escalated to an account freeze for ten days while they “investigate “. No access to your money and no bills getting paid.
The OP is too stupid to realize any of that. To be honest she needed to get into her local branch in person and stop with this so the next day and hour on hold foolishness.
